The Process of Working Together
Meet & Greet Appointment (It’s on the house)
A free 15 minute virtual call for us to meet one another, briefly discuss your main concerns, and ensure that my approach to medicine is the best fit for you! If all sounds good, we will then get you scheduled in for your initial intake appointment. Please note- this step can be skipped if you already know you want to work together!
Your Initial Intake Appointment
At this visit we have up to 60 minutes of uninterrupted time to dive deep into your health concerns and symptoms, health history, foundational habits, and long term goals. This is really a chance for you to take the floor, and I will fill in the gaps with follow-up questions as needed. At this appointment we may also perform some physical assessments (examples; blood pressure, heart auscultation, thyroid palpation and others) to further investigate your concerns.
Lab Testing and Interpretation
After your initial visit, and with your consent, I will requisition any lab work that we deem necessary to better understand what’s going on with your health beneath the surface. This labwork can range from basic bloodwork panels, stool testing, food sensitivity testing and others depending on your specific concerns! Prior to your next appointment you will receive the requisition from our administrative team, and will follow the outlined instructions to complete the testing. The results will be sent directly to me at the clinic, and we will review these in detail at your comprehensive follow-up appointment.
Comprehensive Follow-up Appointment (Your Treatment Plan)
At the comprehensive follow-up we spend up to 45 minutes putting it all together! Your symptoms, assessment findings, lab work results, and a treatment plan to support you moving forward! It is important that you feel confident in your treatment plan which is why we will discuss your options and also have an informed conversation around the expected benefits, risks, and timeline for the recommended therapies.
Check-in Appointments and Re-testing
After you’ve started a treatment plan we use check-in visits to monitor how you’re feeling, and to ensure we are seeing meaningful change over time! These visits also provide us the opportunity to perform further investigation and make tweaks to your treatment plan as needed. If any new concerns pop up along the way, we will also use this time to discuss.
Health Maintenance Appointments
Your health care visits shouldn’t end just because you’re feeling better- you also deserve long-term health support! One of my strengths as a Naturopathic Doctor is that I am well equipped to support you in preventative healthcare! The goal of these (less frequent) visits is to check in on your overall health status, re-assess labwork as needed, and ensure that your day-to-day habits are supportive of living a long, happy and healthy life.
